Local-first

Local-first by design.

Luma is designed so essential V1 communication support works without a cloud account. Parents stay in control of child profile, cards, photos, audio, routines, notes, and backups.

Data parents create stays parent-controlled

Luma stores V1 app data locally on the device and uses encrypted local storage for sensitive information and parent-created media.

No account required Parents can use core communication features without creating a Luma account.
Encrypted local data Child profile, favourites, custom cards, photos, audio, routines, and SLP notes stay on the device.
Backup and restore Password-protected encrypted backup files help parents move Luma data between installs or devices.
Deletion controls Parents can delete local child profile, favourites, custom cards, photos, audio, routines, and notes.

Important backup limitation

Exported backup files are parent-controlled after they leave the app. Parents should store backups somewhere they trust and avoid sharing them with people who should not access child information.
